For more than 45 years, the University Aviation Association (UAA) has played a vital role in the advancement of collegiate aviation education and the aviation industry. UAA is the only national organization devoted to collectively representing the interests of two-year, four-year and graduate aviation degree-granting institutions. UAA members include accredited institutions of higher learning, aviation faculty, staff and students, and corporations and individuals interested in promoting aviation education.
A key UAA goal is to encourage and promote the attainment of the highest standards in aviation education at the college level. Other UAA objectives include:
Developing a cadre of aviation experts available for program evaluation, consultation, speaking engagements and other professional contributions that help stimulate aviation education.
Providing a national clearinghouse to disseminate aviation information among institutions of higher learning, government and industry organizations in the aerospace field.
Fostering information exchange among institutions that offer aviation programs in such areas as business, technology, transportation and education.
Actively supporting aerospace-oriented teacher education, with particular emphasis on workshops and materials development.
Sponsoring intercollegiate flying through the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) and the NIFA Foundation.
